Shepherd of the Hills FOUNDATION

The Foundation was established to meet financial needs over and above the church’s annual budget. Established in 1988, the Foundation receives, and administers, current and deferred monetary gifts given by congregation members who donate through funeral memorials and bequests from their estates, and through lifetime gifts to honor friends and loved ones or to help build a long term endowment for Shepherd’s future. The Foundation is governed by a sperate board, elected in the annual congregational meeting.

Earnings are used to fund a wide range of initiatives in ministry, and outreach, not provided for by the regular operating budget. Youth, seniors, outreach, education and capital improvements are among our priorities. For example, the Foundation has supported initiatives both inside (I) and outside (O) the four walls of Shepherd such as kitchen remodeling (I), organ cleaning (I), sound system upgrade (I), Lutheran Campus Ministries (O), Lutheran Partners in Global Mission (O) and local non-profit organizations (O)
