Before the COVID-19 outbreak many of us walked around thinking and talking about ways we might slow life down, have more time together, etc. Well in many ways it seems it was forced upon us. Even tho we can only hang out with our immediate families in our own homes, many of us are having regular gatherings on Zoom or similar places with extended family, friends, maybe even getting to church more. While this is less ideal than actually being together in a space, there are gatherings happening that would not otherwise be happening at all. There are some important relationships that are re-connecting and maybe even more open to one another’s needs.
In the mental health world there is a spike in anxiety and isolation triggered depression. For some this is a a new thing they are noticing, for others it is an escalation of an existing concern. What can you do?
Add one of these practices into your schedule, they can be only 5 minutes long if that is all you have. Once you start you may find it so helpful you will carve out more time for additional practices. Settling you mind will help everything else go smoother.
No matter what technique you choose to help you cope, I know one thing for sure, God is grateful for you and so am I!!
