I recently had a conversation with someone from church about what we can do as we go through these unprecedented times with the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a very hope-filled conversation and if I am being honest, was something that I needed to hear. One of the phrases that she said, made me smile and I wrote it down so that I would not forget it.
She stated, “You bloom where you’re planted.” Wherever you came from, wherever you are now, with whatever means you have, you bloom where you’re planted.
We are all planted right now in our homes and I believe we are blooming, even as you read this. We are growing, learning new things and finding creative ways to be community. We are being challenged to stretch beyond what we thought we could do. We have neighbors helping neighbors within a distance, old friendships being restored and families are having church and faith time in their own homes. The global environment is changing also by becoming healthier than before.
With Spring upon us, there is blooming taking place. Both within our souls and in our homes and neighborhoods. Rejoice in that today and rejoice that we can trust in a God who takes care of us, who loves us and who will never leave us.
Thank you, Nadine Broholm for our conversation and Happy Birthday!!
