Beloved in Christ at Shepherd:
Peace and love to you all! While we are physically apart, and our building remains completely closed, we are still one in the body of Christ. As our early family of faith’s moto indicates in our stain glass windows… there is One Voice, One Flock and One Shepherd. God’s Holy Spirit unites us in love, even at a distance!
A connected family of faith
As we enter into a new reality of social distancing, business closures and staying at home our goal, as our vision statement indicates, is to be a connected family of faith. There are lots of resources for worship, prayer, mental and physical health available online and even broadcast on television. But the one thing those resources cannot do is help us remain connected to one another. Our focus as a staff over these next eight weeks (and foreseeable future) is to provide as many opportunities to remain as connected to each other as possible while also including resources for folks at home.
Our new pattern of life together
We are also working on other ways to stay connected. First, whenever you can, take a photo of what your family is doing. Post it to our Facebook Worship Group. We love to see your faces! Next, our staff will be calling everyone in our directory from time to time to check in and pray with whoever would like a prayer. We are also working on setting up possible video and conference call gatherings like a book club, a MoSOTH or WoSOTH event, or even virtual dinner parties! Look for more info to come.
Holy Week and Easter
You may be wondering about Holy Week and Easter services. We are currently brainstorming about how these might take place at a distance. We will let everyone know our plan as soon as we have one!
