Global – Get to know Vikram
Our Sunday school offering goes to a child in South India. We have a new child this year and his name is Vikram MURUGADOSS. He is in 1st Grade and lives in the village of Pazhayanur and is in a Boarding Home there. His mother and father both work at daily wages laborers. He enjoys games, singing, physical activities, and I good with hand crafts. He speaks a few English words and will soon learn to read and write. Through our offering of $20.00 a month we are giving him hope in a society where many children are given little or no opportunity.
Every Sunday morning from 9:45-10:30 a.m. we
offer a rotation based program for each of four
groups: preschool, K-1st, 2nd-3rd,
and 4th-5th. Our 6th-8th graders
meet separately.
Our rotation based program is a kid-friendly, teacher friendly, and facility transforming way to teach Bible stories and truths. Teachers sign on for 3 weeks in the workshop medium of their choice -- teaching nearly the same lesson each week to different classes depending on age level. Classes rotate into a different stations each week but stay with the same story for a few weeks, learning it in depth through a variety of media. Lesson plans are created from Shepherd of the Hills Sunday School resources.
