Congratulations, Graduating Seniors! All are invited to celebrate this milestone with fellowship (9:30) and worship (10:45) on Sunday, May 4. Graduates and their families are invited to join Pastor Dan, Pastor Kimberly, and Kara Larson for lunch at Dangerfield’s in Shakopee following worship. Graduates, please return your questionnaire forms and pictures to the church office or to Kara Larson as soon as possible if you have not already done so.

The Senior High Youth Convention in 2009 will be held in New Orleans. Parents of youth who will have completed 9-12 grades in the summer of 2009 are invited to an information session about the convention on Wednesday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Westwood Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Cariboutyou Coffee

Cariboutyou Coffee, 9th – 12th graders are invited to meet 1st and 3rd Sundays from 9:40 – 10:30 a.m. for coffee, donuts, and lively, relevant discussion. We are taking a break for the summer and will continue again beginning in October, 2008. For more information contact Pastor Kimberly at kimberly@sothchurch.com.

Third Sunday Lunch
Join Pastor Kimberly and other faithful adults for lunch the third Sundays of the month after worship. Meet at noon at the doors by the office. The final gathering for this program year will be April 20 at Jimmy John’s in Bloomington. Gatherings will resume again in October, 2008.

Mission Trip to Thunder Bay, Ontario, July 6-11, 2008

Fellowship
Our 9th-12th graders meet weekly in Cell groups on Wednesdays for discussion and prayer. Senior high youth are also encouraged to teach or shepherd (guide younger students) for Sunday School. Service projects and events are regularly offered for this age group. This program will resume again in September, 2008.

Teens Encounter Christ

Many of our senior high and college students work with or attend TEC weekends.

Where: St. John’s Lutheran in Mound, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie, and Lord of Life in Maple Grove

What it’s about: TEC is a peer ministry aimed at helping teenagers spend a few days immersed in God’s love. During this time, they hear talks, two given by clergy, and seven given by other youth who have previously attended a TEC weekend. These talks are geared towards sharing a personal perspective on how we experience God in our daily lives. Along with these talks, the youth encounter prayer, worship, singing, food, sharing, fellowship, fun, and other activities which promote the idea that God truly does love us!
