Shepherd of the Hills offers three distinct worship styles: a traditional Lutheran liturgical service at 9:00am in the fall; a contemporary service led by an eclectic band including guitar, bass, drum, keyboards, and other instruments at 10:45am in the fall; and a Wednesday night worship service at 6:30pm led by our students that includes all sorts of musical styles and instrumentation. All of these services focus on Biblical readings and preaching that seeks to help hearers listen for the voice and call of God in their daily living.
9:00am Traditional Lutheran Liturgical Service: At this service we come together to hear our wonderful Holtcamp organ played by organist David Surdez. Singing traditional hymns, following the traditional Lutheran Liturgy, and hearing our choir each and every Sunday, this traditional service is filled with life. Communion is served at each service.
10:45am Contemporary Band Led Worship: With musical styles ranging from global anthems, to praise music to tunes taken right off the radio, this service is always filled with surprises and joy. Within a liturgical framework, we use music written especially for Shepherd of the Hills that provides a more casual yet worshipful setting. Led by Emily Therrien and our Shepherd Song band. Communion is served every Sunday.
6:30pm Wednesday Evening Worship: This service is open to all and serves as the start of our confirmation program on Wednesday evenings during the school year. A service for and by our students, we offer God-Sightings, Prayers, Creeds, Bible Readings and other worship elements in different ways to open our hearts and minds to seeing God all around us. Please check with the church office for this worship schedule, or goto the confirmation page to see if Wednesday Worship is in session this week.
Summer Worship: In the summer we come together at 9:30am for one service. We alternate between our traditional liturgical service and our contemporary service. From time to time we combine the two styles and have one unique service with organ, choirs, band and singing. Our one service schedule begins the weekend of Memorial Day and runs through early September. Check with the church office if you are uncertain of our current worship schedule.
