New Member Classes
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION: Wed., November 14th 6:15-7:15 pm.
This fall we will begin a new, New Member Program. With thanks to the Lay Ministry Call Team we've found ten families who will serve as new member welcome hosts. The program will include two relationship building components. The first evening will include an orientation at church with staff and ministries introduced. The second component will have the new member host create an event either in their home, a restaurant or over coffee with one new member family. The second opportunity event will be designed to build new friendships with other members of the congregation. The new member welcome host is also encouraged to create these events to invite their friends in the congregation as well. Once these second gatherings have taken place each new member family will be introduced to the congregation. Special thanks to those ten families who will be new member welcome hosts!
If you're interested in becoming a member, send an email to Shawn in the church office at office@sothchurch.com and we will add your family to our list of possible new members and contact you with the dates
Shepherd of the Hills is a unique congregation with members of over 40 years and members who have just joined. Our intimate worship services and welcoming hospitality time helps us know each other by name, care for each other and support one another in our daily living. We strive to be a family of faith where being a member means being known, loved and cared for by other members of our faith family. Our New Member Classes are designed to help you get to know other members of Shepherd of the Hills, and to help you find your spot in our family. New Member Classes are offered in the fall and spring of each year.
You don't need to be a member to participate in our activities. Shepherd welcomes all people to join in all of our exciting, faith-filled ministries. Guests and members alike are invited to participate in Bible studies, worship, meals, fun events, and nearly all other ministries of the congregation, regardless of membership status.
