ABOUT SHEPHERD

Welcome to the Web site of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Allow us to share with you some of the characteristics of this community of faith.

• Our mission: "Every Person Will Know Jesus." We believe that Jesus is God's gift of salvation for all people. Our goal is to introduce as many people as possible to God's love and grace through Jesus Christ.
  

• Our mission dictates that we are an open and inclusive congregation. Everyone is welcome to participate in our worship and programs of enrichment and outreach.
  

• We seek to be a hospitable community. Our Lord invites us to enjoy his hospitality at the communion table. He urges us to come and eat and drink with him and of him. We believe that that invitation is given to all who seek to be touched by his love and grace.

• Our goal is to care for one another. We are large enough to have energizing worship and strong programs, but we are small enough (1,000 members) to know each other's names, and personally respond to each other's needs.

• Worship is Gospel centered. We celebrate that Gospel through strong preaching, inspiring music led by three excellent choirs, and sharing the Eucharist at every service. We seek to make every service accessible to the participation of our children.
  

• Children, Youth and Family is our primary program focus. Our ministry to and with them is intergenerational.
  

• We continually explore new mission partnerships in order to share our Lord's compassion and concern for justice in our larger community.
